उत्तराखंड में उत्तर प्रदेश से सटे इलाकों में वोटर कार्ड व अन्य प्रमाणपत्रों की जांच के लिए सत्यापन अभियान चलाया जाएगा। इन क्षेत्रों में बाहरी लोगों के बसने और फर्जी वोटर कार्ड बनवाने की शिकायतों के बाद सरकार ने यह निर्णय किया है। दरअसल, नैनीताल जिले के वनभूलपुरा में फर्जी स्थाई निवास प्रमाण पत्र बनाने के मामले में पुलिस को कई अहम सुराग मिले हैं। जांच में खुलासा हुआ है कि मुख्य आरोपी फैजान मिरकानी ने खुद को अरायजनवीस बता डेढ़ दशक के भीतर बाहरी राज्यों के कई लोगों को हल्द्वानी में बसाया।
